LET'S BEGIN WITH OUR PHENOMENAL BASKETBALL TEAM WHOSE PROWESS ON THE COURT HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF EXTRAORDINARY THIS MONTH.

IN JANUARY, THEY DOMINATED THE COMPETITION, EMERGING VICTORIOUS IN ALMOST EVERY GAME.

LAST WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 31ST, WE BEAT GLENDORA IN A NAIL-BITING MATCH, CLINCHING THE PALOMARES LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP.

TONIGHT WE CONTINUE THE FIRST ROUND OF CIF AS WELL AS GO HEAD TO HEAD AGAINST TUCSON HIGH SCHOOL AT 07:00 PM.

THOUGH THE CHALLENGE IS FORMIDABLE, I DO HAVE GREAT CONFIDENCE IN OUR BASKETBALL TEAM.

LAST FRIDAY, ASP HOSTED OUR WINTER RALLY.

AND I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT WAS A SUPER FUN RALLY, AND MANY TEACHERS EVEN SAID IT WAS THEIR FAVORITE ONE OF ALL TIME.

OUR THEME WAS JURASSIC PARK.

AND WE TRANSFORMED THE WHOLE GYM INTO A SCENE FROM THE MOVIE, COMPLETE WITH TIKI TORCHES, LEAVES, AND BALLOONS.

IT REALLY DID SEEM LIKE WE WERE IN THE PARK.

I WAS EVEN ABLE TO DRESS UP IN A BLOW-UP DINOSAUR COSTUME AND GOT TO RUN AROUND AND DANCE DURING THE ENTIRE RALLY.

SOME WOULD EVEN SAY THAT MY DANCE FOODS WERE DYNAMITE.

[LAUGHTER] OUR BEARCATS CAME OUT AND SHOWED THEIR SPIRIT, AND IT WAS A GREAT TIME CELEBRATING OUR WINTER PROGRAMS. AS VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING UP, OUR BRING CHANGE TO MIND CLUB IS SELLING AND DELIVERING CANDY GRAMS TO STUDENTS.

THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO INVOLVE STUDENTS ON CAMPUS AND SHOW THEM THAT OTHERS CARE ABOUT THEM.

OUR SOPHOMORE CLASS COUNCIL HAS BEEN BUSY WORKING ON OUR WINTER SEMI-FORMAL DANCE ON FEBRUARY 23RD.

OUR THEME IS NIGHT OUT IN NEW YORK, AND WE WILL HAVE A FREE HANDEL'S ICE CREAM FOR EACH STUDENT WHO ATTENDS THE DANCE.

THERE WILL BE A DJ, FUN ACTIVITIES FOR ALL TO PARTICIPATE IN AT THE DANCE.

IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'LL BE A GREAT NIGHT.

DURING JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, WE HAVE HAD SO MANY AWESOME FIELD TRIPS WITH MORE TO COME.

OUR ADVANCED CULINARY PROGRAM AND ACCOUNTING PROGRAM BOTH WENT ON EDUCATIONAL TRIPS TO MT.

SAC. OUR FOODS CLASS AND ADVANCED CULINARY PROGRAM TOOK A JOINT FIELD TRIP TO THE LOS ANGELES FOOD BANK, WHERE THEY HELPED PREPARE FOOD FOR THE HOMELESS AND SERVE THE COMMUNITY.

COMING UP, OUR ATHLETIC TRAINING PROGRAM WILL BE TAKING A FIELD TRIP WITH THE CLIPPERS IN LOS ANGELES NEXT WEEK.

OUR CHOIR PROGRAM IS TAKING A FIELD TRIP TO DISNEYLAND NEXT WEEK AS WELL.

LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, OUR CULINARY PROGRAM IS TAKING A FIELD TRIP TO CHICK-FIL-A TO GET REAL-LIFE INSIGHT INTO THE OPERATION OF A RESTAURANT.

OUR CALENDAR THIS MONTH IS BRIMMING WITH EXCITING EVENTS AND WILL CONTINUE TO ENRICH THE BONITA HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE.

WHETHER IT HAS TO DO WITH OUR FURTHER SUCCESSES ON THE COURT OR STAGE, OUR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS, OR FUN EVENTS, THERE'S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS MONTH.

THIS SHOW FEATURES STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER THE DISTRICT, AND THERE ARE SHOWS FROM THE NINTH TO THE 11TH.

LAST WEEK, DURING OUR ENGLISH CLASSES, WE WENT TO THE BCA TO PREVIEW THE SHOW.

THESE KIDS HAVE WORKED INCREDIBLY HARD, SO IF YOU CAN STOP BY TO WATCH, YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD.

MOVING OFF TO ATHLETICS.

AS OUR WINTER SPORTS SEASON ENDS AND OUR SPRING SEASON BEGINS, THE SAINTS HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY.

YESTERDAY, OUR GIRLS' WATER POLO WENT TO PLAYOFFS AT CHARTER OAK.

TODAY OUR BOYS' BASKETBALL HAS PLAYOFFS, AND TOMORROW, OUR GIRLS' BASKETBALL AND SOCCER TEAMS HAVE PLAYOFFS AT HOME.

LASTLY, OUR GIRLS' WRESTLING TEAM IS HAVING THEIR CIF MATCHES THIS WEEK AS WELL.

IN TERMS OF ACADEMICS, TOMORROW IS OUR ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE AND FUTURE SAINT NIGHT WHERE WE INVITE THE LONE HILL EIGHTH GRADERS TO SEE WHAT SAN DIMAS IS ALL ABOUT.

SOME OF OUR SENIORS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT THEIR SDCP GRADUATION PRESENTATIONS FOR EARLY EXIT.

I'M ONE OF THOSE SENIORS AND ALTHOUGH I'M SUPER NERVOUS, I'M ALSO SUPER EXCITED.

ON THE 16TH, WE HAVE OUR ELECTIVE RUSH WHERE STUDENTS LEARN ALL ABOUT THE ELECTIVE COURSES THAT ARE OFFERED ON CAMPUS SO THAT THEY CAN SIGN UP FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST FOR OUR ACTIVITIES.

TODAY, OUR ASB LEADERS HELP TOWARDS FOR THE EIGHTH GRADERS TO SHOW THEM AROUND THE SCHOOL.

THIS WEEK IS COUNSELORS APPRECIATION WEEK, AND OUR STUDENTS HAVE PREPARED HANDWRITTEN NOTES TO SURPRISE THEM AND SHOW OUR GRATITUDE FOR EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO.

OUR SPRING FLING IS THIS MONTH.

THE THEME IS DENIM AND DISCO, AND TICKET SALES STARTED THIS WEEK.

JOE'S ITALIAN ICE WILL BE INCLUDED WITH EACH TICKET.

OUR STUDENTS ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT AS WELL.

WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON OUR ANNUAL VALENTINE'S DAY HEART ATTACK EVENT.

THIS IS WHERE WE MAKE PERSONALIZED HEARTS FOR EVERY SINGLE SAN DIMAS STUDENT WITH THEIR NAME ON IT.

WE PUT THESE HEARTS AROUND THE QUAD ON VALENTINE'S DAY AND THE STUDENTS LOVE IT EVERY YEAR.

LASTLY, ON THE 28TH, OUR MENTAL HEALTH CLUB IS HOSTING A MENTAL HEALTH DAY TO SPREAD AWARENESS OF ITS IMPORTANCE ON CAMPUS.

ON JANUARY 19TH, WE HELD OUR SECOND RENAISSANCE ASSEMBLY, CELEBRATING THE END OF OUR FIRST SEMESTER.

WE RECOGNIZE BRITTNEY AVELAR AS THE TOP CREDIT EARNER.

BRITTNEY EARNED A TOTAL OF 63 CREDITS DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER.

OUR CHAPARRAL STUDENT OF THE MONTH WAS FELICE FAJARDO AND OUR BUSINESS STUDENT OF THE MONTH IS TIM BROWN.

WE FINALLY ANNOUNCED OUR THEME FOR PROM AND IT'S BULLDOGS ON THE BAYOU.

ON MONDAY, WE ANNOUNCED OUR PROM COURT FINALISTS, AND PROM WILL BE HELD AT THE SAN DIMAS CIVIC CENTER, AND TICKETS ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR $25.

FOR ACADEMICS, COLLEGE, AND CAREER PREPARATION, WE HAD PRISCILLA AND THE CITRUS AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT VISIT OUR SCHOOL ON JANUARY 26TH TO HOST THEIR AUTO WORKSHOP THAT IS GEARED TOWARDS FEMALE-IDENTIFYING STUDENTS TO PROVIDE THEM WITH AN EXPOSURE TO THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELD.

WE HAD OVER 30 STUDENTS EXPRESS INTEREST AND WE INVITED 21 STUDENTS TO ATTEND.

THEY WERE GIVEN A PIZZA LUNCH AND SHOWN THE BASICS OF AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE, CONSISTING OF CHECKING AIR PRESSURE AND THE TIRE THREAD, REMOVING THE AIR FILTER, LEARNING TO JACK UP A CAR AND TO CHANGE A TIRE, AND MUCH MORE.

BOTH MT. SAC AND CITRUS HAVE HELD THEIR APPLICATION WORKSHOPS.

THIRTEEN SENIORS HAVE SUBMITTED THEIR EARLY DECISION APPLICATIONS FOR CITRUS AND 11 FOR MT.

SAC. OUR FASFA WORKSHOP IS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 26TH DURING SECOND AND FOURTH PERIOD.

WE ALSO HAVE THREE STUDENTS THAT WERE ACCEPTED INTO THE COSMETOLOGY AND BARBERING PROGRAM AT THE FAIRPLEX.

THEY WILL BE ATTENDING THE CLASS MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, AND IT WILL SATISFY THEIR 1,000 HOURS FOR LICENSING AND PREPARE THEM FOR THE STATE'S EXAM.

OUR ADVANCED CULINARY CLASS MADE PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS FOR OUR DECEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH AT OUR RENAISSANCE ASSEMBLY ON JANUARY 19TH.

ONE OF THE BURNERS MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING A DELAY, BUT THE TEAM PERSEVERED AND THE SANDWICHES WERE DELICIOUS.

IN ART, WE ARE FINISHING UP A POINTILLISM SPIRIT ANIMAL PAINTING AND ARE ABOUT TO START A SMALL LESSON ABOUT THE GOOGLE DOODLE ANNUAL DRAWING CONTEST, WHERE STUDENTS WILL CREATE A GOOGLE DOODLE WHERE THE THEME IS HAVING STUDENTS EXPLORE WHAT THE NEXT 25 YEARS OF THEIR LIVES LOOK LIKE.

THE ADVANCED ARTISTS WERE ASKED TO FIND A STAFF MEMBER WHO WOULD ASSIGN THEM ON COMMISSION.

THIS HAS BEEN INTERESTING BECAUSE EACH ARTIST IS DOING SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

FOR EXAMPLE, JOSHUA GIONANGA IS TAKING A FAMILY PHOTO OF OUR COUNSELOR AND TURNING IT INTO A DIGITAL CARTOON, WHILE MADISON SHARPE IS SCULPTING A CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE FOR A SERENITY SPACE.

LAST FRIDAY, WE HELD OUR ANNUAL TWIN DAY.

WE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE ONE OF THE STUDENTS' GRANDMOTHERS MAKING US CHICKEN GUMBO AND MISSISSIPPI MACARONI AND CHEESE FOR OUR PROM DINNER.

WE WILL ALSO BE HAVING CORNBREAD, HUSH PUPPIES, AND FRIED OKRA.

WE WON OUR FINAL SOCCER GAME AGAINST DOUG SEARS HIGH SCHOOL IN TEMPLE CITY.

THE FINAL SCORE WAS 7-2 WITH ARTURO DURANTEZ SCORING AN UNBELIEVABLE SEVEN GOALS.

SOFTBALL IS NEXT, AND WE ALREADY STARTED PRACTICING AND LOOKING FORWARD TO A SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

ALAS, DUE TO WEATHER, WE HAVE YET TO CONCLUDE OUR HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT.

BONITA USD PARTNERS WITH THE SELPA TO HOST SIX CLASSES TO SUPPORT STUDENTS IN AUTISM.

GLADSTONE IS UNIQUE IN THAT THIS SITE HOSTS FOUR OF OUR AUTISM PROVIDER PROGRAM CLASSES.

CAPTAIN IS A MULTI-AGENCY NETWORK THAT INCLUDES PARTNERS FROM FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS, THE REGIONAL CENTER, UNIVERSITIES, AND SCHOOL TEAMS WHOSE MISSION IT IS, IS TO DEVELOP AND SUPPORT THE UNDERSTANDING AND USE OF EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ACROSS CALIFORNIA.

CAPTAIN SUPPORTS 17 REGIONS IN CALIFORNIA, AND OUR CAPTAIN REGION INCLUDES SEVEN SELPAS IN 35 SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

AS PART OF CALIFORNIA'S STATEWIDE SYSTEM OF SUPPORT, CAPTAIN REGIONS WERE ASKED TO DETERMINE PARTNERSHIPS WITH DISTRICTS AND TEAMS WHO SHARE THEIR VISION IN ORDER TO DEVELOP EXEMPLAR PROGRAMS THAT CAN SERVE AS DEMONSTRATION SITES FOR OTHER PROGRAMS ACROSS THE AREA.

THIS IS A NEW UPDATE THAT THE STATE REQUIRES NOW AS OF OCTOBER 2023, THAT WE ARE TO GIVE AN UPDATE ON THE LCAP METRICS AND EXPENDITURES HALFWAY THROUGH THE SCHOOL YEAR.

JUST A REMINDER THAT THE LCAP IS A THREE YEAR DOCUMENT THAT IS BEING WRITTEN CURRENTLY RIGHT NOW FOR THE NEXT ITERATION, AND IT WILL COMMENCE BEGINNING JULY 1ST FOR THE '24 '25 SCHOOL YEAR.

JUST A FEW THOUGHTS AS I WAS PREPARING THIS REPORT.

THE LCAP WAS WRITTEN IN THE SPRING OF 21 WHEN WE WERE JUST RETURNING FROM DISTANCE LEARNING.

I WAS REFLECTING AND I THOUGHT WE HAD NO IDEA HOW DISTANCE LEARNING WAS GOING TO AFFECT OUR KIDS.

THE REVIEW OF THESE METRICS OVER THREE YEARS IS PROFOUND, BOTH IN WHERE WE REALLY MITIGATED ANY FALLBACK FROM DISTANCE LEARNING AND AREAS WHERE WE STILL HAVE SOME WORK TO DO.

THIS PAGE IS THE BUDGET OVERVIEW THAT IT'S UPDATED FROM WHAT I PRESENTED TO YOU IN JUNE OF '23.

THIS IS THE LCFF EXPENDITURES AND OUR SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT AND THEN OUR P1 YEAR TO DATE EXPENDITURES.

YOU'LL NOTICE A LITTLE BIT THAT WE'RE A BIT MORE THAN 50 PERCENT DONE WITH THE SCHOOL YEAR, BUT WE'VE SPENT A LITTLE BIT LESS THAN 50 PERCENT OF THE FUNDS.

THAT'S BECAUSE WE'RE ABLE TO USE SOME OF THE SR AND COVID MONIES TO OFFSET WHAT WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO SPEND OUT OF LCFF MONIES.

AS YOU REMEMBER, OUR LCAP HAS SIX GOALS.

THE FIRST GOAL IS REALLY OUR BIG GOAL THAT LOOKS AT ALL THE METRICS THAT ADDRESS HIGH QUALITY LEARNING FOR STUDENT OUTCOMES.

THE WAY THESE METRICS READ, YOU HAVE THE BASELINE WHICH WAS TAKEN FROM 1920 DATA.

THEN IN THE FAR RIGHT, YOU HAVE THE DESIRED OUTCOME, WHICH WAS THE GOAL FOR THE YEAR 3 OUTCOME OF THE LCAP.

THEN THE CENTER THERE IS THE MID YEAR DATA.

NOW KEEP IN MIND OUR DATA IS ALWAYS A YEAR LAG.

THAT'S WHY WE'RE USING THE 1920 DATA FOR WHEN WE WROTE THE LCAP AND THIS MID YEAR DATA AND PRESENTED TO YOU, MUCH OF IT IS FROM '22, '23 SCHOOL YEAR.

WE'RE ALWAYS A LITTLE BIT BEHIND THERE.

WE HAVE SOME REALLY GREAT METRICS TO PRESENT IN THIS SLIDE.

IF YOU'LL LOOK AT THE FIRST ONE OF THE DESIRED OUTCOME WAS TO GET OUR A THROUG G OF OVER 60 PERCENT OF OUR GRADES.

WE'RE ALMOST AT 65 PERCENT AT THE CULMINATION OF THE '22, '23 SCHOOL YEAR.

THE SECOND ONE IS A PERCENT OF AP EXAMS THAT HAD A PASSING SCORE, AND THE DESIRED OUTCOME WAS TO GET THAT TO 68 PERCENT AND WE'RE ACTUALLY AT 69 PERCENT AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE 2022, '23 SCHOOL YEAR.

WE'VE REALLY INCREASED THE NUMBER OF AP EXAMS THAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE TAKEN, BUT WE'VE ALSO INCREASED THE PASS RATES.

GREAT JOB TO OUR HIGH SCHOOLS ON THAT.

SECOND ONE IS WHERE OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS REALLY SHINE HERE, YOU CAN SEE THAT WE WERE USING STAR READING AS A METRIC AND THAT THE GOAL WAS TO GET 80 PERCENT PROFICIENT IN READING AND 70 PERCENT PROFICIENT IN MATH.

LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS AT THE MID YEAR CHECK IN POINT.

THIS YEAR WE'RE AT 75.84 PERCENT.

YOU CAN REALLY SEE OUR VERY STRONG READING PROGRAM AND A GREAT INSTRUCTIONAL SEQUENCE IN K5, WHICH WE CAN ATTRIBUTE TO BOTH OF THOSE SCORES.

START. NOT A GREAT METRIC FOR OUR SECONDARY STUDENTS, IT REALLY DOESN'T ALIGN WITH THEIR PROGRAM, SO WE SWITCHED TO COMMON LIT, WHICH WE'RE NOW USING FOR OUR DISTRICT BENCHMARK AND THAT WILL BE A FUTURE METRIC IN LCAP.

WE GAVE OUR FIRST COMMON LIT ASSESSMENT IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AND WE'LL HAVE OUR MID YEAR DATA IN A COUPLE WEEKS.

WE'RE JUST FINISHING THAT MID CHECK IN.

THEN THERE'LL BE A THIRD END OF YOUR CHECK IN ON COMMON LIT AS WELL, FIRST SIX THROUGH 12 STUDENTS.

GOAL 2 IS WHERE WE TARGET ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR OUR SUBGROUPS USING SOME STATE AND LOCAL ASSESSMENTS.

THE FIRST TWO METRICS THERE ARE CAST FOR OUR ENGLISH LEARNERS, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THE DESIRED OUTCOME WAS TO MAINTAIN OR APPROVE ABOVE STANDARD FOR OUR ENGLISH.

WE DID THAT, WE SAW A SLIGHT DIP IN THOSE SCORES.

BUT TO PUT SOME CONTEXT ON THAT ONE, FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA EL LEARNERS ARE AVERAGE 93 POINTS BELOW THE STANDARD.

YOU CAN SEE OUR EL STUDENTS ARE AT 3.4 POINTS ABOVE THE STANDARD.

THIS IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT WAY TO LOOK AT THE DATA RATHER THAN THE PERCENT PROFICIENT ADVANCED.

THE DASHBOARD REPORTS OUT ABOVE OR BELOW THE STANDARD.

JUST DIFFERENT WAY TO LOOK AT THE DATA.

IN OUR EL MATH, THE DESIRED OUTCOME WAS TO CLOSE THE GAP TOWARD STANDARD.

WE WERE SLIGHTLY BELOW THE GAP AND YOU CAN SEE WE SAW ANOTHER SMALL DIP THERE.

WE BROUGHT ON AN ELEMENTARY MATH TOSA, WHO'S BEEN WORKING WITH ALL MATH TEACHERS AND PARTICULARLY OUR MATH INTERVENTION TEACHERS.

IT'S A SUPPLEMENTAL INTERVENTION BUT ALSO TARGETING EL FOR MATH.

THE LAST ONE THERE IS SOCIALLY OUR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS, AND THE DESIRED OUTCOME THERE WAS TO IMPROVE THE AVERAGE SCORE BY 10 POINTS.

WE SAW JUST A SLIGHT DIP THERE, BUT WE KNOW THAT STUDENTS IN POVERTY WERE HIT HARDEST DURING DISTANCE LEARNING.

THE ORIGINAL METRIC ONLY INCLUDED MATH BECAUSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS WAS NOT AN AREA OF SIGNIFICANCE ON OUR DASHBOARD.

BUT AGAIN, SAME THING.

WE'RE WORKING HARD WITH OUR MATH INTERVENTION FOLKS TO REALLY TARGET THOSE SUBGROUPS AND ADDITIONAL CONTEXT ON THIS ONE.

THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR SOCIO, ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED IS 80 POINTS BELOW THE STANDARD.

GOAL 3 IS ABOUT RICH ENVIRONMENTS FOR OUR STUDENTS, TECHNOLOGY AND RETAINING HIGH QUALITY STAFF SO THAT OUR STUDENTS HAVE THE BEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE.

YOU CAN SEE HERE WE HAVE 100 PERCENT FULLY CREDENTIALED AND APPROPRIATELY ASSIGNED TEACHERS, WHICH WAS OUR DESIRED OUTCOME.

THE SAME FOR OUR ENGLISH LEARNER STUDENTS, THAT WE HAVE 100 PERCENT FULLY CREDENTIALED TEACHERS, AND THAT WE WERE PROPELLED INTO ONE TO ONE DURING DISTANCE LEARNING, BUT WE'VE MANAGED TO MAINTAIN THAT RATIO WITH OUR STUDENTS.

THEN THE LAST METRIC IN THIS ONE IS SCHOOL SAFETY AND STUDENT SURVEYS AROUND SCHOOL SAFETY.

I WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT WE USE THE PANORAMA SURVEY AND THEY USE A FIVE POINT LIKERT SCALE AND SO A THREE WHICH IS QUESTIONS THAT WOULD BE LIKE SOMETIMES OR OCCASIONALLY ARE NOT INCLUDED AS A POSITIVE ANSWER.

THEY'RE NOT INCLUDED IN THAT POSITIVE METRIC.

KEEP THAT IN MIND SOME CONTEXT.

SOME OF THESE METRICS, WE ALSO SEE SOME REALLY POSITIVE BOUNCE BACK FROM THAT.

PRE-PANDEMIC, OUR CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM WAS REALLY LOW, AND THEN OBVIOUSLY STATEWIDE WE SAW CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM JUST SKYROCKET.

WE WANTED IT TO STAY AT 6 PERCENT THIS IS ONE OF THOSE UNFORESEEN.

WE COULD NOT HAVE SEEN HOW THIS PANDEMIC WAS GOING TO AFFECT THIS METRIC.

RIGHT NOW WE'RE AT 20 PERCENT CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM, BUT AT THE END OF 22, 23 SCHOOL YEAR IT WAS AT 25 PERCENT SO WE'VE ALREADY SEEN A DROP IN THAT.

YOU'VE ALL HEARD ABOUT OUR ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGN.

WE ANTICIPATE TO SEE AN EVEN BIGGER DROP IN THAT.

AGAIN WITH THE SCHOOL CONNECTEDNESS, SIMILAR PANORAMA SURVEY, AGAIN WHERE THE THREES ON THE LEICHHARDT SCALE ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THOSE.

WE'RE NOT HITTING OUR DESIRED OUTCOME, BUT WE STILL HAVE TIME TO WORK ON THAT.

THAT'S ALSO PART OF SOME OF OUR SCHOOL GOALS FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

THAT'S A STATEWIDE TREND, SO THAT'S BEEN A PRIORITY GOAL FOR EACH OF OUR SCHOOL SITES.

GOAL FIVE, THIS IS THE EASIEST ONE FOR ME TO REPORT OUT ON.

THIS IS PARTNERING WITH OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS, OUR PARENTS.

IT'S EASY FOR ME TO REPORT OUT ON BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE DATA YET.

THAT COMES IN THE FORM OF OUR WEST-END SURVEYS THAT WE GIVE OUT IN MARCH.

THOSE WILL BE GOING OUT IN MARCH OF 24.

THEN GOAL SIX, THIS IS ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS, CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT THAT SUPPORT THE CALIFORNIA STATE STANDARDS.

THE STUDENTS WERE INCREDIBLY ENGAGED AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL VISIT.

AT THE VERY END OF THE VISIT, WE STOPPED BY THEIR FITNESS LAB.

IT IS SO INCREDIBLE.

OF COURSE, THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY A DIME.

EVERYONE'S ACTIVE.

I SEE SUCH VALUE IN IT FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DON'T PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS, BUT THAT WE WANT TO TEACH THEM THAT STAYING IN SHAPE IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

THEY'RE USED TO IT FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL, HOW EASY WILL IT BE AS THEY GET OLDER TO GO INTO A GYM? IT WON'T BE A STRANGE ENVIRONMENT WHEN THEY GO IN AND SAY, I'D LIKE TO DO THIS TO STAY FIT.

BECAUSE EVERYBODY THERE, ALL SHAPES AND SIZES OF THE STUDENTS, EVERYBODY'S DOING WHAT THEY CAN DO TO STAY IN SHAPE. SO THAT'S REALLY NICE.

I ALSO ATTENDED THE SPELLING BEE. THAT WAS GREAT.

IT WAS A GLADSTONE WINNER, AND I'M SURE WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THEM BACK ALL THREE, FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD, TO VISIT US HERE AT A BOARD MEETING.

I WAS REALLY THRILLED TO HEAR ABOUT THE WINNING BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM, OUR VICTORY OVER GLENDORA.

THEY HAD A VERY NICE WRITE-UP ON IT.

BUT WE HAD GIRLS AND BOYS BASKETBALL FROM BOTH SCHOOLS, EVERYBODY GOING ON TO CIF.

AND I KNOW TWO OF THE GAMES ARE GOING ON TONIGHT.

JUST WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DISTRICT THIS IS, I'M SO HAPPY TO BE A PART OF IT. THANK YOU.

THERE'S A PERFORMANCE NEXT WEEK, WHICH IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR, IS CALLED LA VERNE SINGS.

THAT'S WHEN ON THE LA VERNE SIDE, ALL THE ELEMENTARY RAMONA MIDDLE SCHOOL AND THE HIGH SCHOOL BANDS ALL HAVE ONE CHOIR ALTOGETHER.

AND YOU SEE HOW MUCH THE THIRD GRADERS, FOURTH GRADERS THEY SING, AND THE WHAT THEY COULD BE COME UP TO AT A HIGH SCHOOL SINGERS.

I WOULD INVITE YOU ALL, BUT IT'S SUCH A PACKED HOUSE THAT I ONLY COULD GET TWO TICKETS FROM ME AND MY WIFE BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER IS IN THERE BECAUSE WE'RE PACKING THEM ALL INTO ONE ARENA.

BUT YOU CAN SEE JUST THE PROGRESSION.

IF YOU REALLY INVEST EARLY ON THINGS LIKE THE ARTS, YOU'RE GOING TO GET THESE WORLD-CLASS PERFORMERS.

SO DEFINITELY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.
