OUR ARTS PROGRAM IS KICKING INTO HIGH GEAR AS OUR THEATER DEPARTMENT IS GETTING READY TO PRESENT THE FALL PLAY ENTITLED THE WOLVES.
THE SHOW DATES ARE NOVEMBER 17TH, 18TH AND 19TH, SO BE SURE TO GRAB A TICKET.
AND I PERSONALLY AM SO EXCITED TO SEE HOW FAR WE GO THIS SEASON.
OUR FALL SPORTS HAVE COME TO A CLOSE AND IT WAS QUITE AN AMAZING SEASON FOR THEM ALL.
OUR FIELD HOCKEY TEAM GOT THIRD IN CIF AND FINISHED AS LEAGUE CHAMPS.
WE RECENTLY HAD OUR DANCING THROUGH THE DECADES HOMECOMING DANCE AND RALLY, AND IT WAS SUCH A BLAST.

SENIORS ENROLLED IN MRS. LIEDLE'S ECONOMICS CLASS JUST COMPLETED IN SHARK TANK.
THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT IF THEIR BUSINESS IS GOING TO BE GOODS OR SERVICES OR BOTH, AND IF IT IS GOING TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEEDS OR WANTS OF SOCIETY. THERE IS ALSO THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB HOSTED BY STUDENT TRINITY RIVERA.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLUB IS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN HUMAN ACTIONS AND OUR ENVIRONMENT AND EDUCATE THE SCHOOL'S COMMUNITY OF STEPS THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO IMPROVE OUR ENVIRONMENT.

THE BOYS TOOK ON PALM SPRINGS YESTERDAY AND PULLED AWAY WITH THE WIN 22 THREE.
AND THEY ARE IN DIVISION 5AND THEY'RE SEATED NUMBER TWO.
TODAY WE HAD OUR GIRLS TENNIS TEAM PLAY ROUND ONE IN CIF.
THEY ALSO WENT UNDEFEATED IN LEAGUE THIS YEAR.
WE HAD 148 SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS TAKE THE PSAT.
OUR BIO-MEDICAL CLASS HAD A DETECTIVE AS A GUEST SPEAKER.
THEY SET UP A CRIME SCENE AND ATTEMPTED TO SOLVE THE CRIME.
THE ST. SCROLL, WHICH IS OUR SCHOOL NEWSPAPER, WAS JUST RELEASED.
THE STUDENTS DID A GREAT JOB UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MRS. LEHRMAN. THERE'S ALSO A GREAT TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED SUBSTITUTE TEACHER, MR. ROCK.

STUDENTS LEARN TO SING AND SPEAK IN 3 TO 4 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES.

THE WEEK STARTED SUCCESSFUL WITH A RALLY WHERE WE HIGHLIGHTED OUR HOMECOMING KING, BRIAN FREELAND.
THE FOOTBALL GAME FOLLOWED THAT NIGHT WHERE WE CROWNED OUR HOMECOMING QUEEN, FRANKIE COLEMAN.
OUR TWO MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST, MR. FLOWERS AND MS. ZUNIGA ALSO PUT ON A THING FOR THE DECEASED, AND WE WROTE STICKY NOTES SAYING HOW WE MISS EVERYBODY.

BONITA UNIFIED'S BLAST PROGRAM IS A PRESCHOOL INCLUSION PROGRAM FOR THREE YEAR OLD STUDENTS.OUR PRESCHOOL PROGRAM WAS RECENTLY SELECTED BY THE CALIFORNIA EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AS AN EXEMPLAR, INNOVATIVE AND INCLUSIVE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM.

SO WE DO SCHOOL BASED COUNSELING THROUGH BOTH OF THEM, WHERE THEY SEND EITHER INTERNS OR THERAPISTS ONTO CAMPUS TO MEET WITH KIDS THAT WOULD ACTUALLY INCREASE THAT 700 I TALKED ABOUT WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN INCLUDED THESE CASELOADS.

I THINK WE HAD A SESSION WE DID A WORKSHOP ON THE TUESDAY BEFORE WE CLOSED SCHOOLS IN 2020.
IT WAS LIKE THE LAST DISTRICT EVENT THAT I DID IT WAS LIKE A SPRING MINI CONFERENCE ON WELLNESS.
AND SO WE'RE NOW GETTING BACK TO THAT.
AND THEN IN TERMS OF FUTURE STAFFING, WHEN WE SORT OF THINK OF THIS EXPANSION PROJECT AND WHERE WE BELIEVE KIND OF WHAT WE'RE GETTING TO THE GOLD STANDARD IS WE WOULD WANT TO LAND AT ONE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST AT EACH OF OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS INSTEAD OF SPLITTING BETWEEN TWO.

IF EVER THERE WAS A TEAM THAT WAS GOING TO WEATHER THE COVID STORM, WELL, IT WAS CERTAINLY OURS.
AND I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEM ALL FOR THEIR EFFORTS ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL.
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK THE MANY, MANY PARENTS AND FAMILIES WHO DEMONSTRATED MUCH NEEDED AND APPRECIATED PATIENCE AND GRACE DURING THOSE LONG MONTHS OF REMOTE LEARNING AND MODIFIED CLASSROOMS, SCHEDULES AND PROCEDURES.

WE REALLY OWE A LOT TO ALL OUR BUSD TEACHERS WHO HAD THE RESPONSIBILITY OF DELIVERING THE BEST EDUCATION POSSIBLE UNDER VERY CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES.

ON OUR BOARD LEARNING WALK IN OCTOBER WE AGAIN SAW MORE OF THOSE DEDICATED, DETERMINED, PASSIONATE, IMAGINATIVE, INNOVATIVE AND RESOURCEFUL TEACHERS IN THEIR ELEMENTS AT GLADSTONE ELEMENTARY AND BONITA HIGH SCHOOL.
AT GLADSTONE, WE SAW SOME OF THE EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM INTERVENTION INTERVENTION WORK BEING DONE, WHICH CERTAINLY HELPS REINFORCE MY GREAT APPRECIATION OF OUR AMBITION TO KEEP ALL STUDENTS ON TRACK AND LEAVE NO CHILD BEHIND.
THEY WILL ACTUALLY ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT AROUND WHEN IT'S COMPLETED.
I ENJOYED BEING IN THE SAN DIMAS HOMECOMING PARADE AGAIN, SADLY, MY LAST ONE AS A BOARD MEMBER, BUT I'LL STILL BE CHEERING FROM THE SIDELINES, FROM, YOU KNOW, AT THE PARADES FOLLOWING AND ALSO WISH EVERYBODY VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT TWO EVENTS THAT I WENT TO RECENTLY, ONE AT LONE HILL MIDDLE.
IT WAS THE STAFF VERSUS STUDENT VOLLEYBALL GAME, SAW THE SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS BATTLE THE STAFF.
IT WAS AWESOME. FULL GYM AT LUNCH, THE KIDS CHEERING.
THE STAFF EKED OUT A 2219 THRILLER, BUT WHAT IT REALLY ILLUSTRATED WAS JUST SCHOOL SPIRIT AND CAMARADERIE WITH THE TEACHING, THE TEACHERS AND THE STAFF OR THE KIDS, WHICH WAS JUST REALLY AWESOME TO SEE.
AND THEN ON LAST THURSDAY, IT WENT TO THE ROYNON TALENT SHOW HELD AT THE BCA.
A LOT OF REALLY CUTE ACTS SINGING, DANCING, SOME MARTIAL ARTS.
SHE WAS REALLY, REALLY TALENTED, REALLY AWESOME WAY TO END THE SHOW AND WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO THE BCA STAFF BECAUSE THERE WERE A LOT OF TRANSITIONS DURING THAT SHOW AND THEY HANDLED IT REMARKABLY WELL.

A FENCE WOULD BUY THE TEACHERS A FEW EXTRA MINUTES IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
I PERSONALLY HAVE WORKED IN SPECIAL ED FOR OVER 20 YEARS, AND I CAN TELL YOU FIRSTHAND THAT LIVING THROUGH A SCHOOL LOCKDOWN, BEING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT DOOR IS EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC HAVING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS COUNTING ON YOU FOR THEIR SAFETY.
MY SECOND REQUEST IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO EATING IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.
BUT AGAIN, IN THE DAY AND AGE THAT WE'RE LIVING IN, WITH SCHOOL SHOOTINGS BECOMING MORE AND MORE COMMON, OUR KIDS ARE TOO VULNERABLE AND THEY'RE EXTREMELY EXPOSED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THAT LAWN. SO THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN IS AN ACTIVE SHOOTER SITUATION.
LASTLY, THERE'S ALSO THE ISSUE OF EQUITY.
SO GLADSTONE, ALLEN, EKSTRAND, ETC.
HAVE ALL THESE FENCES, SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SHULL IS STILL NOT THERE.
BUT WE KNOW IT TAKES YEARS FOR THOSE THINGS TO COME INTO FRUITION.
