I BELIEVE THAT MISS EMMA RIVERS'S PARENT MS. RIVERA, RECOGNIZED HER THROUGH THE HELP OF 100 PEOPLE, WAS AWESOME AND IT JUST DEMONSTRATES WHAT SHE HAS DONE FOR THAT FAMILY AND ALL HER STUDENTS REALLY.

THE COACH IS PRETTY MUCH THE KINDEST AND HAPPIEST PEOPLE THAT I KNOW IN MY PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE.

COACH JACKSON AND HIS FAMILY AND HIS GROUP AND HIS KIDS, WENT DOWN TO THE FINAL 10 SECONDS OF A CIF TITLE GAME, FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY AND COACH JUST GOT BACK AT ONE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING TODAY FROM FIRST-EVER STATE PLAYOFF GAME.
COACH HAS DONE AN AMAZING JOB.
HE TOOK THEM TO THE REGIONAL GAME.

STUDENT RAN OVER IN A PANIC AND SAID THAT HELP WAS NEEDED AT THE POLE VAULT.
BONITA ATHLETIC TRAINER, AMANDA SIEBERT AND UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE TRAINING INTERN, ERICA DELEON DROVE OVER TO ASSES THE SITUATION, WHILE, HEAD COACH LAKEISHA LAWSON CALLED 911.
THE POLE VAULT COACH DAVE PERRIN WAS DOWN ON THE GROUND AND HIS SON, MITCHELL, WAS KNEELING OVER HIM TRYING TO GET A RESPONSE.

THEY SWITCHED OFF COMPRESSIONS AND BREATHS EVERY COUPLE OF ROUNDS OF CPR.
AFTER THAT TWO MINUTES COACH PERRIN PERIODICALLY BEGAN LABORED BREATHING ON HIS OWN, BUT STILL HAD NO PULSE.
LA VERNE POLICE DEPARTMENT QUICKLY ARRIVED FOR HELP.
MS. SIEBERT CONTINUED CPR WHILE, OFFICER FRANK CAMBERO, PREPARED COACH PERRIN FOR THE AED.
ONE SHOT WAS APPLIED TWO OTHER OFFICES TOOK OVER COMPRESSIONS AND CONTINUED CPR.
DURING THE EMERGENCY, TRACK AND BASEBALL COACHES CLEARED THE AREA AND COACH LAWSON DIRECTED THE EMS ONTO THE FIELD.
LA VERNE FIRE DEPARTMENT PARAMEDICS HOOKED DAVE UP TO A COMPRESSION MACHINE AND OTHER EQUIPMENT.
BEFORE COACH PERRIN WAS TRANSPORTED IN THE AMBULANCE, HE WAS BREATHING MORE NORMALLY AND HIS HEART WAS BEATING ON ITS OWN.
IT WAS THIS SWIFT AND IMMEDIATE ACTION TAKEN BY MS. SIEBERT, HER ULV INTERN, ERICA DELEON, COACH LAKEISHA LAWSON AND LA VERNE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS, THAT PROVIDED SUCH A HIGH LEVEL OF CARE THAT IN FACT, IT SAVED DAVE'S LIFE.

WE ALSO GET A SUPPLEMENTAL ALLOTMENT, WHICH IS ABOUT SEVEN MILLION.
WE GET THAT SUPPLEMENTAL ALLOTMENT BASED ON THE UNDUPLICATED PUPIL COUNT, UDPS ARE STUDENTS THAT ARE EITHER LOW-INCOME, ELLS, ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS, OR FOSTER YOUTH.
WE HAVE A UDP RATE OF ABOUT 40 PERCENT.
THAT A SUPPLEMENTAL MONEY IS FIGURED AND ALLOTTED, WE GET 20 PERCENT OF THE BASE GRANT FOR EACH ONE OF THOSE STUDENTS.
THAT THE STATE ALSO OFFERS CONCENTRATION MONEY, BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A UDP RATE OVER 55 PERCENT TO GET THAT MONEY, WHICH WE DON'T QUALIFY FOR.
IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE LCAP, WE HAVE TO WRITE GOALS.
FOR THIS VERSION OF THE LCAP FOR '21 THROUGH '24, WE HAVE SIX OF THEM.

GOAL 3 IS A GENERAL GOAL DEALING WITH MANY OF THE EXPENDITURES OF SALARIES, FACILITIES, AND TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE.

GOAL 5 IS ABOUT COMMUNICATION, COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, PARENT TRAINING.
THEN GOAL 6 IS A GENERAL GOAL FOR EXPENDITURES FOR INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS, INCLUDING THE TEXT SOFTWARE THAT WE PURCHASE.
WE MET TWO WEEKS AGO TALKING ABOUT THE ELO, THE EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES GRANT.

AS YOU LOOK THROUGH THE LCAP, ALL KINDS OF METRICS OR YOU GO THROUGHOUT WAYS THAT WE'RE GOING TO MEASURE WHETHER OR NOT WE'RE BEING SUCCESSFUL AS A DISTRICT.
BUT I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT SIX OF THEM.
ONE OF THEM FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IS THE DISTRICT GOAL OF 80/70.
WE WANT 80 PERCENT OF OUR STUDENTS TO BE PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, 70 PERCENT IN MATHEMATICS.
AS A REMINDER, THE LAST TIME WE TOOK THE TEST OF 2019, WE WERE AT 71 AND 60.
WE'RE NOT AT 80/70, NEXT YEAR.
WE MAY NOT BE AT 80/70 THREE YEARS FROM NOW.
BUT WE DO PROJECT THAT OVER THE COURSE OF THE THREE YEARS, WE'RE GOING TO MAKE SIGNIFICANT HEADWAY TO GET TO 80/70.
IT WOULD BE A HOLLOW VICTORY FOR THE DISTRICT IF WE WERE 80/70 HOLISTICALLY AS A DISTRICT IF WE HAD STUDENTS SUBGROUPS THAT WERE NOT THERE.
ALTHOUGH WE WILL CELEBRATE WHEN WE ACHIEVE 80/70 AS A DISTRICT, WE WON'T STOP UNTIL EVERY SUBGROUP REACHES THAT NUMBER OF 80/70 AS WELL.
TWO RELATED METRICS I DID WANT TO HIGHLIGHT, WE DO WANT TO INCREASE A THROUGH G COMPLETION, THE A THROUGH G REQUIREMENT.
NUMBER OF CLASSES THAT STUDENTS HAVE TO COMPLETE IN HIGH SCHOOL IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR UC OR CSU, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
RIGHT NOW THE BASELINE FOR THAT IS 55 PERCENT AS A DISTRICT, WE DO WANT TO INCREASE THAT.
SECOND, WE WANT TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS COMPLETING A CAREER TECH PATHWAY.
RIGHT NOW THE BASELINE FOR THAT IS 23 PERCENT, BUT WE DO PROJECT OVER TIME WE WILL INCREASE.
RELATED TO SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING, WE DID HIGHLIGHT TWO FEATURES OF THIS IN OUR PANORAMA SURVEY DATA.
WE WANT TO INCREASE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND STUDENT'S SENSE OF BELONGING ON CAMPUS.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE DATA, OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS DO RATE FAIRLY WELL IN BOTH THOSE CATEGORIES, BUT AS YOU GO THROUGH THE YEARS, WE DO SEE A DECREASE.
ONE OF OUR FOCUS AREAS FOR THIS COMING THREE YEARS IS, TO NOT ONLY INCREASE ELEMENTARY, BUT MAKE SURE WE DON'T SEE THE DIP IN MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL.
RELATED TO THAT, WE WANT TO DECREASE THE SUSPENSION RATE, WHICH WE HAVE DONE A RELATIVELY GOOD JOB OF.
AT ONE POINT, WE WERE ALMOST SEVEN PERCENT SUSPENSION RATE.
LAST TIME MEASURED, I BELIEVE IT WAS 3.8.
NOW WE WANT TO DO BETTER THAN 3.8 THOUGH.
WE ALSO WANT TO DECREASE CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM RATE, WHICH IS DEFINED AS MISSING MORE THAN 10 PERCENT OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
WE WANT TO DO BETTER IN ALL THOSE AREAS.
WE DO FEEL LIKE FOR SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING, IF WE HAVE KIDS HAVE HIGHER ENGAGEMENT, BETTER SENSE OF BELONGING, THOSE LAST TWO FACTORS WILL LARGELY TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES.
OUT OF THE 70 PAGES OF THE SECTION OF JUST THE 21 THROUGH 24 LCAP, THERE ARE LOT OF EXPENDITURES IN THERE DETAILING THE 97 MILLION.
I DO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT JUST A FEW OF THEM.
IF YOU START IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT SLIDE, TEACHER SALARIES.
WE'RE AN ACADEMIC INSTITUTION, SO IT'S NO SURPRISE THAT WE HAVE A SIGNIFICANT EXPENSE RELATED TO TEACHERS.
THAT EXPENSE IN 3.6 IS ALMOST $40 MILLION.
ADDITIONALLY, OTHER PERSONNEL ON THERE, WE HAVE ABOUT 1.8 MILLION IN THE INTERVENTION PERSONNEL, ABOUT A MILLION DOLLARS IN MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, AND 600,000 IN CTE.
THOSE EXPENDITURES ARE RELATED IN THE LCAP.
THE OTHER ITEMS ON THERE ARE SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS THAT WILL HELP US ACHIEVE THE OUTCOMES ON THE PREVIOUS SLIDE.
WE DO FEEL LIKE THE PLAN IS SOLID, SET UP ON THE RIGHT PATH TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST OUTCOMES FOR OUR STUDENTS.

THE STATE BUDGET IS SUPPOSED TO BE PASSED BY JUNE 15.
IF IT'S NOT PASSED BY JUNE 15TH, THE LEGISLATORS DON'T GET PAID.
THEY DID PASS A BUDGET ON MONDAY, JUNE 14TH.
IT'S MORE OF A PLACEHOLDER BUDGET.
A LOT OF DETAILS STILL TO BE WORKED OUT, BUT WE'LL TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MORE ABOUT THAT ONCE WE GET DOWN TO THAT SLIDE.
WE'RE GOING TO START TALKING ABOUT THE 2021 CURRENT FISCAL YEAR ESTIMATED ACTUALS.

WE TAKE OUR LOCAL CONTROL FUNDING FORMULA AND UPDATE THAT TO THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION WE HAVE.
WE LOOK AT ALL OF OUR CATEGORICAL PROGRAMS AND OTHER REVENUES.
REALLY GO THROUGH ALL OF OUR EXPENSE ACCOUNT PROGRAM CONTRIBUTIONS, LOOK AT ALL OF OUR DIFFERENT BUDGETS AND PROGRAMS JUST TO JUST TRY TO GET A PICTURE OF HOW DO WE THINK WE'RE GOING TO END UP THIS YEAR.
THERE'S ONE MATERIAL CHANGE IF YOU TAKE THAT ESTIMATED ACTUAL COLUMN THAT YOU'RE SEEING NOW AND LAY IT UP AGAINST WHAT WE CAME OUT AT SECOND INTERIM AND SHOWED YOU.
THE SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IS WE DID SINCE THAT TIME, ADD THE ONETIME OFF SCHEDULE SALARY ADJUSTMENT OF

A TWO PERCENT THAT WAS RECEIVED BY ALL EMPLOYEES.AT SECOND INTERIM, WE WERE SHOWING A NET LOSS ESTIMATE FOR THE YEAR OF 3.3 MILLION.
WE'RE NOW SHOWING ESTIMATE ACTUAL LOSS OF 5.1 MILLION TOTAL GENERAL FUND, AND THAT'S A $1.8 MILLION CHANGE.
THAT ESTIMATED TOTAL NET DECREASE, THE TOTAL GENERAL FUND IS MADE UP THE UNRESTRICTED NET DECREASE OF 4.49 MILLION AND THEN A SMALL DECREASE IN THE RESTRICTED FUND.
NOW, WE NORMALLY ARE SHOWING A DEFICIT AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, ESTIMATED DEFICIT, WE DO EXPECT TO END BETTER THAN THAT.
WE'LL SAY FOR 2021 WE HAVE SEVERAL THINGS GOING AND MAKE UP THAT DEFICIT.
FOR ONE, NORMALLY JUST WE SOMETIMES ARE SHOWING DEFICITS SPENDING IN ANY GIVEN YEAR BECAUSE WE ARE SPENDING DOWN PRIOR YEAR CARRYOVERS BOTH RESTRICTED AND UNRESTRICTED.
THAT'S JUST A TINY DIFFERENCE.
EACH YEAR WE HAVE TO ADD MORE EXPENSES INTO OUR BUDGET FOR STEP IN COLUMN, JUST NORMAL INFLATIONARY INCREASES.
WE HAVE THOSE NORMAL AND INCREASES LAST YEAR, AS WELL AS THAT ONE-TIME RAISE FOR OUR EMPLOYEES' BONUS, BUT AT THE SAME TIME LAST YEAR, YOU'LL RECALL WE HAD NO INCREASE IN OUR LCFF, A FLAT FUNDED LCFF LAST YEAR.
WHEN YOU PUT ALL THAT TOGETHER, THAT'S WHAT'S DRIVING THAT DEFICIT.
WITH THAT ESTIMATED LOSS FOR THE YEAR, WE'RE LOOKING AT AN ENDING FUND BALANCE, RESTRICTED RESERVE IN DESIGNATED A 4.1 MILLION, AND THEN THE UNRESTRICTED BALANCE OVER 21 MILLION.
THAT'S TOTAL 25 AND A HALF MILLION.
THE UNRESTRICTED ENDING FUND BALANCE OF THE 21 MILLION IS 16.6 PERCENT OF TOTAL GENERAL FUND EXPENDITURES.
THE STATE REQUIREMENT IS THREE PERCENT, AND OUR OWN DISTRICT REQUIREMENT IS SEVEN PERCENT.
WE'RE WELL ABOVE BOTH THE STATE AND OUR OWN REQUIREMENT.

WE CAN SERVE A VERY CONSERVATIVELY BUDGET AND AGAIN, THE ESTIMATED ACTUALS PROJECT THAT WE WOULD SPEND ALL OF OUR CATEGORICALS AND WE NEVER DO THAT.
WHEN WE VENTURE THAT 21, 22 BUDGET, SO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BUDGET, WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES.
LAST YEAR, YOU'LL REMEMBER THAT WE WERE LOOKING AT 10 PERCENT CUT.
THIS YEAR THE STATE IS FLUSH WITH MONEY, SO THE GOVERNOR HAS PROPOSED A LARGE INCREASE FOR US.
IN THAT GOVERNOR'S PROPOSED BUDGET, WHICH IS WHAT WE'VE USED IN OUR BUDGET, HE PROPOSED A 1.7 PERCENT STATUTORY COLA.
THAT'S A STATUTORY COLA TO BE APPLIED TO ALL CATEGORICAL PROGRAMS. A 4.05 COMPOUNDED PROGRAM, WHICH WOULD TAKE INTO EFFECT THAT WE DIDN'T GET A COLA LAST YEAR.
THEN THE 5.07 MEGA COLA IS HE SAID TAKE THAT 4.05 AND MAKE IT EVEN BIGGER FOR OUR LOCAL CONTROL FUNDING FORMULA.
OVER FIVE PERCENT INCREASE ON OUR LCFF.
THE GOVERNOR ALSO IS GOING TO GIVE US ANOTHER YEAR OF HOLD HARMLESS UNTIL 22, 23 ON OUR ADA LOSS.
WE'LL BE ABLE TO CLAIM THE SAME ADA THAT WE'VE HAD FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OUR [INAUDIBLE] IS DOWN NEXT YEAR.
THEN THE GOVERNOR'S ALSO HAD MANY OTHER NEW PROGRAMS. THEY'RE ALL DETAILED [LAUGHTER] IN THE NARRATIVE.
THERE'S A LOT OF PROGRAMS THERE.
WE'RE NOT SURE WHICH ONES ARE GOING TO COME THROUGH YET.
ONCE THAT ALL GETS SETTLED OUT BETWEEN THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATURE, THAT'S WHEN WE WORK IN INTO OUR BUDGET.

THE BUDGET THAT THE STATE CAME OUT WITH ON MONDAY IS REALLY A PLACEHOLDER BUDGET, AND IN THAT BUDGET, THE LEGISLATURE PROPOSED A $264 BILLION SPENDING PLAN, WHICH WAS SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS MORE THAN THE GOVERNOR.THE LEGISLATURE IS OFFERING EVEN MORE MONEY.
NOW, OF COURSE, THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATURE HAVE TO GET TOGETHER AND WORK THAT OUT.
THE LEGISLATURE IS UP FOR SCHOOLS, IS RECOMMENDING A REDUCTION IN OUR SERS AND PERS RETIREMENT RATES.
THEY'RE ALSO RECOMMENDING GETTING RID OF ALL OF THE DEFERRALS.
THE GOVERNOR HAS GOTTEN RID OF MOST OF THE DEFERRALS.
THE LEGISLATURE IS RECOMMENDING ALL OF THEM ARE GONE, AND THEN THE LEGISLATURE ALSO RECOMMENDED USING THAT 4.05 COLA FOR ALL THE CATEGORICAL PROGRAMS ALSO.
ALL THAT WILL BE GOOD, ALL GOOD FOR US.
AGAIN, NOW THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WORK THAT OUT AND THEN LET US KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS, AND THEN WE'LL WORK OUT, WE'LL FURTHER REVISE OUR BUDGET.
OUR BUDGET. THE FIRST TIME YOU SAW THE '21, '22 BUDGET ESTIMATE WAS WAY BACK IN JUNE 2019.
IT WAS THE THIRD YEAR OF THE THREE YEAR PROJECTION.
IT'S CHANGED A LOT SINCE THEN.
WE ALWAYS CALL THE BUDGET IS A LIVING DOCUMENT.
WE ALWAYS INCLUDE IN OUR BUDGET NORMAL REOCCURRING EXPENSE CHANGES SUCH AS STEP IN COLUMN AND CONTRACTUAL CHANGES, INFLATIONARY CHANGES.
OF COURSE, WE'RE GOING TO UPDATE OUR LCFF AND LOOKING AT ALL OF OUR ENROLLMENT AND PROGRAMS. THIS IS A SUMMARY WHERE WE'VE LAID THE ESTIMATED ACTUALS FOR 6-30-21 THAT WE JUST TALKED ABOUT AGAINST THE BUDGET FOR NEXT YEAR FOR THE TOTAL GENERAL FUND.
AGAIN, FOR THE ESTIMATED ACTUALS FOR 6-30-21, WE'RE LOOKING ABOUT A $5 MILLION LOSS AND THE $25 MILLION ENDING FUND BALANCE.
THE BUDGET FOR JUNE 30TH, 22, $115 MILLION, $119 MILLION IN EXPENDITURES, A $3.7 MILLION DEFICIT SPENDING, AND THEN ANY FUND BALANCE OF ALMOST $22 MILLION.
LET'S BREAK THAT DOWN A LITTLE BIT.
FOR THE REVENUES AGAIN, WE ARE USING FOR OUR LCFF, THE MAY REVISE ASSUMPTION, AND WE'RE USING ALL OF THOSE COLAS AS PROPOSED BY THE GOVERNOR, WHICH IT DOES APPEAR THE LEGISLATURE IS GOING TO COME TOGETHER ON THOSE.
WE'LL ALL BE TOGETHER ON THIS.
WE'RE PROJECTING TOTAL REVENUES OF 115.8 MILLION.
THAT'S A $7.9 MILLION DECREASE FROM ESTIMATED ACTUALS.
MOST OF THAT'S BECAUSE OF THE REDUCTION IN THE FEDERAL COVID FUNDING.

THE RATE CHANGES THAT WE KNOW ABOUT FOR STRS AND PERS, THE SCHEDULED RATE CHANGES INCREASES.
PROBABLY THE ONLY MAJOR DIFFERENCE WE HAVE IN THERE IS WE DO HAVE AN INCREASE IN OUR UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE RATE THIS YEAR FROM 0.05 PERCENT TO 1.23 PERCENT, WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT A $629,000 INCREASE TO THE DISTRICT.
THERE IS DISCUSSION AT THE STATE LEVEL ABOUT ADJUSTING THAT SOMEHOW OR SOMEHOW DEFERRING, THAT ARE HELPING US TO PAY FOR THAT BECAUSE THAT'S QUITE A BIG INCREASE TO THE SCHOOLS.

I'M EXCITED FOR THE 2021/22 SCHOOL YEAR WHERE MASKS, I HOPE, ARE OPTIONAL FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS, WHERE BEING VACCINATED IS A PERSONAL CHOICE NOT A TICKET TO BREATHE OR PARTICIPATE, AND WHERE EVERY STUDENT AND EMPLOYEE FEEL SAFE AND HEARD.

THE EQUITY COMMITTEE HAS ALSO MADE OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS THAT WE'LL BE PUTTING IN PLACE NEXT YEAR.

CRITICAL RACE THEORY TEACHES THAT MEMBERS OF A MINORITIZED RACIAL GROUP ARE VICTIMS OF A SYSTEM THAT IS RIGGED AGAINST THEM.
THOSE BORN INTO PRIVILEGED RACES ARE INHERENTLY EXPLOITERS OF THE MINORITY SO THAT WOULD BE PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF, MY 18-YEAR-OLD SON HAS THAT NOW ON HIS BACK.
IT TEACHES THAT WHITE MALES ARE OPPRESSORS AND ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE STATUS ARE OPPRESSED VICTIMS. IT PITS ONE RACE AGAINST ANOTHER AND UNDER THESE STANDARDS, PEOPLE ARE NOT BEING TAUGHT TO JUDGE ONE ANOTHER BASED ON THEIR CHARACTER, RATHER TO JUDGE THEM BASED ON THEIR SKIN COLOR.
CRITICAL RACE THEORY IS A RACE-BASED OFFSHOOT OF CRITICAL THEORY, WHICH IS A MARXIST INSPIRED MOVEMENT IN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY THAT MAINTAINS THAT ONE OF THE PRIMARY GOALS OF PHILOSOPHY IS TO UNDERSTAND AND TO HELP OVERCOME AND SOCIAL STRUCTURES THROUGH WHICH PEOPLE ARE DOMINATED AND OPPRESSED.
BASICALLY TAKING ALL PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, EITHER THEIR LIKE MAKING THESE PEOPLE THINK THAT THEIR VICTIMS, RATHER THAN TEACHING THEM TO WORK HARD AND GIVEN THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES THEY WILL STRIVE TO DO THEIR BEST AND MAYBE BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OR THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
CRITICAL RACE THEORY SEEKS TO DISMANTLE CAPITALISM, UNDERMINE AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES.

A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF THIS IS BUSD PUTTING INTO ACTION TO CONTINUE SCHOOL LUNCHES FOR ALL OF THE STUDENTS OF THIS DISTRICT TO COMBAT FOOD INSECURITIES.
MY QUESTION THEN TODAY REMAINS, HOW IS THE BOARD AND DISTRICT ABLE TO SWIFTLY RECOGNIZE AND ADDRESS SOME ISSUES OF INEQUITY AND YET NOT OTHERS.
DRUG EPIDEMICS WE HAVE REVEREND WHITMAN RAKE AND ERROR.
DRUNK DRIVING IS COMBATED WITH EVERY 15 MINUTES.

WELL, I DON'T DOUBT THIS DISTRICT'S COMMITMENT TO EQUITY.
I HAVE STRONG DOUBTS AND CONCERNS IN THE ABILITY TO RECTIFY SOMETHING WHICH HAS BEEN SO PERVASIVE HERE FOR YEARS.
BY FAILING TO TRULY GRAPPLE WITH AND DISCUSS, ADDRESS AND TEACH OUR STUDENTS TO CRITICALLY ADDRESS THESE ISSUES WHICH ARE FOUGHT EVERY DAY IN OUR SCHOOLS.
THIS DISTRICT IS NOT PREPARING ITS GRADUATES TO HAVE MEANINGFUL DISCUSSIONS ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CITIZEN OF OUR DIVERSE COUNTRY AND A CARING, EMPATHETIC HUMAN BEING.
